A Staycation Still Counts…
Hey,
Back in August, my husband and I had a little staycation at the Hotel Saint Vincent on Magazine Street. Before I get into how amazing it was, I just want to say, yes. I know it is now October, but Hurricane Ida happened not long after and I’ve been in the middle of a career change amongst other things. Life happens, but now that things are feeling more settled down, and I’m adjusting to my new routine. I feel like I can catch up on blogging again!
From the moment we walked into the courtyard I was in love, but inside it was even better. It felt like walking into a Wes Anderson film. Everything from the decor to the staff uniforms were so chic and immaculate. Upon booking our stay, the hotel restaurant San Lorenzo, did not have any available reservations, but the concierge was able to squeeze us in for one of the best meals I’ve had in a while. Each course was perfectly timed and presented. I seriously love a great dining experience, and as I was eating, I was already thinking about what I would order the next time I was there. There was definitely going to be a next time. We were so full, and decided to let our dinner digest with after dinner cocktails at the hotel bar. The night air wasn’t too humid, so we enjoyed the lush courtyard for a bit before making our way to our room.
The room had a very minimalist feel, but was so cozy. The bathroom had an amazing wall paper and warm colors to contrast the cool mid century modern feel of the room. Needless to say, we slept soundly and enjoyed all of the comforts offered. If you live in the New Orleans area, do you ever staycation? If you’re not from here, and love a cozy boutique hotel, definitely check it out! What is your favorite hotel in Nola?
