Blue Jean Blues…

Who else hates shopping for jeans? One of my college jobs was at a specialty denim store. I used to have an obscene amount of the latest designer denim. When I say obscene, I mean OBSCENE like at my worst (or best depending on your shopping habits) I had around 250 pairs. Oh to be young with no real bills. I basically worked for store credit…

So let’s fast forward to now. I rarely wear jeans these days, but when I want to, I had none that fit me in a flattering way. I have definitely fluctuated sizes over the last few years. I had tried multiple less expensive brands, but they just weren’t doing it for me. I finally broke down and went into Madewell and tried on a pair of vintage inspired straight leg, aka “mom jeans” and I fell in love. I ended up buying two colors and they work perfectly with my current wardrobe! They are high waisted enough to cover that lower part of my belly and not so tight I can’t breathe. I could have gone down a size, but I’m way past the point in my life of wearing skin tight jeans that make it hard to breathe. What’s your favorite pair of jeans?

I styled the Blue Jeans with my favorite look, a simple oversized tee also from Madewell. I chose to go for a slightly sassier cropped top from Zara with the Charcoal pair.
