BOOK REVIEW: FUNNY STORY by EMILY HENRY

I know it’s been a while since I have posted a book review, but that is not for a lack of reading. According to my Good Reads page, I am currently 12 books ahead of my schedule to reach 60 books by the end of this year.

I started and finished Funny Story by Emily Henry yesterday. I truly do not recall the last time I stopped all productivity and just completed a read from start to finish in one day. Here is my spoiler-free review:

Funny Story gives you all the feels of a romantic comedy. I could easily see this with a film adaptation. If you are into feeling all the feels with a well-written yet easy-to-read flow, you can buy the book here! Last summer I was captivated with Happy Place by the same author. She is a great storyteller and does a lovely job of setting the scene without getting overly detailed. I felt connected to all of the main characters and clearly, I was invested in the outcome of the story. This is the ideal beach read (there’s a little bit of spice!) or sitting poolside while rocking in a hammock. If you end up giving this a read, let me know what you think! Perhaps I’ll post my full review (with spoilers) on my substack for further discourse. Happy summer reading!

Until next time,

Fallon
